EPISODE GUIDE
Season One | Season Two
2.01 - The Prophet
Original Airdate: Monday June 11, 2007 | Writer: Eric Tuchman | Director: Michael Robison

Kyle begins his new life with the man who created him: Adam Baylin. But as Kyle learns more about who he is and how he came to be, his life only gets more complicated. Was Kyle right to trade life with the Tragers for life with the man who created him as a science experiment? The man who abandoned Kyle to life in a pod to save his own life? Before Kyle can resolve his feelings, agents of zzyzx – the lab where Kyle was created – assassinate Baylin, leaving Kyle alone with Baylin's protector Tom Foss. Foss destroys zzyzx's top-secret lab to end the threat to Kyle once and for all. Even though things seems safe enough for Kyle to go home to the Tragers, the threat remains. Many things survive the explosion at zzyzx, including a girl, raised in a pod, just like Kyle.

2.02 - The Homecoming
Original Airdate: Monday June 18, 2007 | Writer: Tommy Thompson | Director: Pat Williams

Kyle is willing to do anything to return to the warmth and love of the Trager family. But leading a double life and lying to the people he loves might be too high a price, especially for the one person who has put everything on the line to keep Kyle's secrets: Declan. As Kyle's lies spin into an inescapable web, he finds himself trapped between the man Adam Baylin dreamed Kyle could become and the normal teenager Kyle wants to be. In the woods outside town, Kyle's podmate XX wanders naked and covered in pink goo just like Kyle did in season one. But the similarities end there. XX utters her first words and kills a man in the same breath. It's no wonder the CEO of Madacorp—the mega corporation behind the zzyzx experiments—takes a personal interest in recovering his company's lost asset, XX. And when XX reveals that she's seen Kyle, Madacorp makes recovering Kyle priority number one—no matter what it takes.

2.03 - The List is Life
Original Airdate: Monday June 25, 2007 | Writer: Julie Plec | Director: Pat Williams

Things are heating up at the high school. The “list” is about to be published and whole reputations will be made or destroyed. Last year Amanda and Charlie were named best couple, but this year they are in for a surprise. Kyle’s life is also turning out to be filled with surprises. Seems when he puts his mind to it; he can do things “little” things like walk right through fire—emerging without a burn. Foss is desperate for Kyle to get on with his training, but Kyle wants to opt out. Kyle’s missed so much and wants so badly to be “normal” that he’s all but rejecting his powers. Too bad. XX has been given the name Jessi Parker and is being primed to make contact with Kyle—seems it’s time he’s brought back in for good.

2.04 - Balancing Act
Original Airdate: Monday July 2, 2007 | Writer: | Director:

Everyone is set to celebrate Josh’s 16th birthday in style. Stephen promises him a car and the whole family is going out to Josh’s favorite restaurant that night. Then, inexplicably, Stephen loses his job and with it goes Josh’s hope of his own set of wheels. Luckily, dinner is still on, but that turns sour when Declan blows off Lori and Kyle fails to show up at all. What’s Declan doing anyway? Kyle warned him to bow out but now he’s followed him to the warehouse where Tom Foss puts Kyle through his paces. Seems he should have listened. When he gets home there’s an envelope waiting. Inside? A picture of Lori with an X across her face. Nicole’s being put through her paces too but she’s yet to realize it. Seems the new patient she’s taken on is one Jessi…better known as XX.

2.05 - Come to Your Senses
Original Airdate: Monday July 9, 2007 | Writer: | Director:

As Tom Foss tries to teach Kyle how to control his senses to achieve hyper-awareness, everyone else in the town of Beachwood seems to be coming to their senses too. Lori swears off of Declan. Josh decides to give up his recreational experimentation. Stephen gets a job. And Kyle finally has Amanda back as a friend. But the price of her forgiveness has been very steep. To get back Amanda’s “stolen” antique gold bracelet, he pawns a ring Adam Baylin gave him. The next time it’s seen is on the hand of Stephen’s new employer, Ballantine, the CEO of Madacorp and employer of one Emily Wilkes. Don’t look now, but the enemy is closing in.

2.06 - Does Kyle Dream of Electic Fish
Original Airdate: Monday July 16, 2007 | Writer: | Director:

Visions take over as Kyle’s powers become more sophisticated and pop up in the most inappropriate places. He’s standing in the local hangout, The Rack, when the words “Viz Allati” (Hungarian for “underwater”) come to him, causing the room to shake. Intrigued, Foss and Kyle hunt through Baylin’s records to find the meaning of this message. There Kyle discovers a book covered with fish that hides a data disk inside. When Kyle deciphers the message, he’s shocked to see it reads "Don't Trust Foss."

2.07 - Free To Be You and Me
Original Airdate: Monday July 23, 2007 | Writer: | Director:

Although Jessi’s been programmed to get close to Kyle, she only has eyes for Declan. When she starts school, Lori is the first to notice this and befriends Jessi as a way of keeping tabs on her. Nicole, who finds many of the things Jessi says in therapy deeply alarming, is also watching Jessi. Kyle has his suspicions too, especially when Jessi wanders into his room and fixes a broken radio in mere moments. Then there’s Emily. Charged by the corporation with using Jessi as a ploy to get at Kyle, she seems to have lost control of her charge. When she finds Jessi at a dance she’s been told she can’t attend, both of them go ballistic. And the X on Lori’s picture? The threat plays out when Lori is attacked after the dance. "

2.08 - What's The Frequency, Kyle
Original Airdate: Monday July 30, 2007 | Writer: | Director:

Kyle’s abilities take a leap forward in the most curious way. Years before Stephen had severed his relationship with his dad. But when he gets word that his father has been hospitalized in a coma, Stephen goes to visit him and takes Kyle along. Amazingly, Kyle seems to be able to read Stephen’s dad’s mind and is able to help the two reconcile before it’s too late. Jessi too is taking leaps forward, but not in the way Madacorp and Ballantine would like to see. For the first time since she was released from her pod, she seems to be developing empathy and real human feelings. Sensing this, Emily begs Ballantine to take her off the job; instead he demands that Emily bring Jessi in for "re-booting."
